About Michael E. Lewitt

Michael E. Lewitt has over 35 years of investment experience, widely recognized as one of the few strategists to have publicly forecast both the 2001–2002 and 2008 credit crises.

He co-founded Harch Capital Management in 1991, managing credit portfolios for Goldman Sachs Asset Management, Texas Teachers Retirement Plan, LACERA, and Investec Bank (UK). Before that, he served in the Corporate Finance Department at Drexel Burnham Lambert in Beverly Hills.

He is the editor and publisher of The Credit Strategist, a monthly newsletter read by investors, policymakers, and academics worldwide, and the author of two books published by Wiley — The Death of Capital (2010) and The Committee to Destroy the World (2016).

Mr. Lewitt graduated Magna Cum Laude from Brown University, holds a JD and LLM in Taxation from NYU School of Law, and was a PhD candidate at Yale. He resides in Palm Beach, Florida.
